Yes, indeed!! Another year has come to a close. And what an amazing year this has been for us all. Or maybe not so amazing, as the case may be.
Some have seen positive changes, some became new parents, some became new millionaires, some became new property-owners, some became new at something. Then there were those whose lives took negative turns and they lost a parent, or a child, or a job, or a property, or millions, or everything. There were also those who had a “meh” kind of year. A year of just going through the motions and where nothing “amazing” happened.
For everyone going through any of those scenarios or a combination of them I have just one thing to say “This too shall pass!”
Despite this being the last day of 2022, it is the tomorrow you weren’t sure you’d make it to yesterday. Even though 2022 ended and you didn’t accomplish the “wish list” or “resolutions” you’d set for the year, it’s all OK.
Today, 31st December 2022, is a new day. It’s a new beginning. It is an opportunity for you to wake up, dress up and show up. It’s a day for your to claim as your NEW BEGINNING. It’s a day where you “choose” to put yourself first.
I love celebrating NYE with the kids, enjoying the fireworks as we ring in a new year. I also love celebrating every new day with gratitude for the blessings that have been bestowed on me. I’m grateful for the very air that I breathe and the earth beneath my feet.
Have you set some targets for 2023? Have you thought about the changes you’re going to make in the year ahead? Have you already had doubts about whether those are realistic targets? It’s all OK.
My ask of you for today, give me five minutes. Five minutes after reading this blog. In those five minutes, have your feet planted firmly on the ground and give gratitude for mother earth. Take deep breaths and give gratitude for the Almighty. Listen for the sounds of nature and give gratitude for the beauty of YOU. Before you continue with the rest of your day make a mental note to count the number of people who smile at you today and the number of people whom you smile at. I’d love to see some numbers in the comments when you’re done.
